COMMUNITY EVENTS AND NEEDS
Ways to be involved in our community beyond the church
The Killian Cupboard
St. Killian Roman Catholic Church is beginning two new ministries to help people in need in our community. First, they are starting a new Food Pantry, to fill the gap between the Evans City, Glade Run, and St. Ferdinand food banks. Second, they will hold a Fellowship Dinner once a week to serve those who need a good meal, or who just want some company. To learn more, call 724.625.1665, ext. 2108.
South Butler Community Meals-on-Wheels
South Butler Community Meals-on-Wheels is in its eighth year of operation and delivery of meals to our community. While the people we serve have changed, the opportunity has remained the same - to serve our neighbors in need of a helping hand! SBCMOW is in need of more helping hands, more volunteers. Please consider giving a small portion of your week or your month towards serving your own community and our Lord through this local outreach ministry. Call our office at 724-898-0080 and discuss the options for volunteering your time. God has blessed us and our neighborhood through this mission in the past, and we look forward to continued service to Him as South Butler Community Meals-on-Wheels moves into the future.
Medical Lending Closet
The Valencia Presbyterian Church has started a 'Medical Lending Closet' to assist those in need of medical equipment. This program provides for free use of any medical equipment, such as walkers, crutches, canes and much more, to those in the community with a need. For a complete inventory of items please visit their website: www.valenciapresbyterian.com.
Used Clothing Ministry
The Valencia United Methodist Church has a used clothing ministry in the basement of their church fellowship hall. It's open every Friday, 11:00-2:00, and Saturday, 11:00-3:00. Donations are welcome. If you know someone who could benefit from this, please spread the word!
